Are stress and anxiety limiting your life?


There are effective, research-based techniques available to help you manage symptoms of anxiety.  This four-week Anxiety Management Group is designed for adults experiencing difficulties handling worry, anxiety and stress who want to:


  • Experience a sense of calmness and relaxation in daily life
  • Let go of excessive worry
  • Reduce feelings of panic
  • Approach situations or tasks they have been avoiding due to anxiety
  • Feel more comfortable talking with people and in social situations

Participants will learn how to:

  • Manage the uncomfortable physical sensations of anxiety
  • Change thinking patterns that create anxiety
  • Effectively confront feared situations and events


Day & Time:               4 consecutive Mondays  5:30-7 p.m. 

Cost:     $60 per session ($240 total)

Group Leaders:

Nona Patterson, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist with over 15 years experience helping adults and adolescents resolve problems, improve relationships and achieve important life goals. Her areas of special interest include working with adults and adolescents undergoing emotional distress (anxiety, fear, depression, and anger), relationship difficulties (getting along with spouse, family, friends or co-workers), adjustment to a change in one's life (loss of a loved one, separation/divorce, change in health status or work.)   She utilizes a cognitive behavioral and solution focused approach. 

Robert Abramowitz, Ph.D.  is a licensed practicing psychologist based in Charlotte, NC.  He has been working with individuals and families for the past twenty years. During that time, he has helped people of all ages to resolve problems, work through life’s difficulties, and learn to live, love, and cope more fully and effectively. His main areas of specialty include family distress, marriage and parenting problems, adolescents and young adults, stress management, depression and anxiety.
